It is well-known that Hashgard mainnet is developed based on Cosmos SDK. Cosmos ecosystem and technological updates are very important to Hashgard. The team has always keep an eye on the recent technological progress of Cosmos, and believes that Cosmos technology will bring up new changes to the Hashgard.
According to the Cosmos official monthly report, the №37 governance proposal for Stargate upgrade comes to the voting stage. Once passed, the upgrading will start at 06:00 UTC on February 18th.
Cosmos officially tweeted that more than 200projects are already deployed in the Cosmos ecosystem, including various areas such as infrastructure, smart contracts, and DEX. Without prosperous ecosystem, cross-chain function is far from enough for a public chain. The ecology is very important to DeFi public chain.
Since the Hashgard Mainnet was launched, the largest staking volume has exceeded 4 billion GARD, with over 40% staking rate. The current staking rate stays around 30%. At present, 16 nodes are in normal operation, with nearly 50,000 on-chain interactions completed. Hashgard mainnet has been running for half a year. The prosperity of Cosmos technology will take Hashgard to the next level.
Cosmos community enthusiast Martin Holovský published an article to make comparison between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cosmos, etc, from different aspects, such as general consensus mechanism, transaction speed, smart contracts, dApps, DEX, DeFi, etc.
Cosmos is the first project to launch mainnet (in March 2019) in the cross-chain sector. The mainnet has been officially in operation for nearly 2 years.
In the past two years, Cosmos has been deployed in the ecosystem of infrastructure, DeFi, privacy, smart contracts, and games. Binance DEX and Binance Chain, oracle machine Band, decentralized financial project KAVA and privacy project Oasis. Many projects such as RUNE, INJ, FET which performed well in the secondary market are all built based on Cosmos.
In the DeFi sector, Cosmos has relatively mature products in stablecoins, lending markets, AMM, oracles, synthetic assets, and DAOs. The layout of Cosmos in the DeFi sector is still developing rapidly.
The Polkadot mainnet keeps high popularity, and its ecology is gradually developing. Polkadot will also launch the Parachain Slot Auction in February. As two leading cross-chain projects, Cosmos and Polkadot will have an important competitive landscape regarding the product and market this year.
Since the popularity of DeFi applications last year, the ecology on Ethereum has been very mature, but many flaws still exist, including high gas fees, cross-chain function, and transaction speed. We believe that DeFi public chain has a promising future, and Hashgard will make long-term efforts in improving its performance.
At present, the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries are still in the early stages, so there is no shortage of quick money opportunities, including arbitrage opportunities generated by information asymmetry and speculative opportunities. However, we believe that such opportunities may prevent investors from discovering opportunities with real long-term value.
